Ginger Scraps : Life Captured - November by Pixelily Designs

I'm in the mood of flower clustering this time. Lily supplied me with beautiful collection of flowers, foliage and pine leaves. So here we go... one of Adin's photo in Korea under the snow flakes. I know it's not winter yet, but it's still cold. Hahaha...

Ginger Scraps : November Buffet - Snowball Fight

Snowball Fight... what a fun and brilliant them to welcome winter! Gunger Scraps Buffet menu this month is full of great winter theme kits including these 3 kits used in my layout here to scrap Acha's dream wish.

Hanbok Day

Getting pictures taken wearing hanbok is one of my dream since I saw the character of Jang Geum in one of Korean TV Drama, which I couldn't recall the title by now :). She looked so elegant but yet still comfortable on it. A rare combination!. Wearing traditional dress, like Indonesian Kebaya for example, requires more effort on term of putting on make up, hair do and the tight kebaya itself. But, it's totally different with hanbok. It's really comfy!

I specifically bought this kit simply because the word arts really represent the theme I want to showcase throughout the layout : FAMILY. I really rarely shop for kits but since it was Black Friday and Sweet Shoppe has this rare 40% discount, so what the heck... just buy it and scrap with it right away! And, the template is from Aprilisa Designs I bought with the coupon I got for winning Gallery Standout Contest the other day.

Note : The 2 Korean Women in hanbook and the korean scroll are not part of the kit. I took it after Googling in a Korean souvenir online shop. The date tag I took from Pixelily Design's Fall Festival Elements.

Meta Wulandari Design : Antiquity

Wow, what a gorgeous vintage black and white kit! See the classic chandelier and the transparent mannequin? Don't you think they are just exquisite!  Love it... gotta to use them in my newest LO here :

Little Green Frog Designs : Tickertape

I think this template is gonna be my all time favorite from LGFD. I love the big picture background and the additional 4 smaller frames surround it. This time, I mirrored it and used it to tell the story of how upset Alyssa was when she has to visit Gyeongbukgong Palace in a cold weather despite the tour guide's promise that all activities would be indoor. It was challenging to put a smile on her grumpy face, let alone took pictures!

She was so pissed off, she didn't want to play with the other kids and just sat down on the wooden bench hugging herself to keep warm. Poor Alyssa... Luckily, after a  half an hour stop at the National Folk Museum she cheered up and even performed her famous somersault in front of Arum and Prita who looked at her in admiration! Yes, this girl knows how to have fun.... :)

Anna Aspnes : ArtPlay Palette Safron Villa

I know that I supposed to scrap our stories in Korea sequentially but I just can't wait to scrap using Anna Aspnes freebies! So, I jumped into day three and hopefully I'll have time to get back to scrap the event on  the earlier days later :). This day, after warm ginseng-chicken soup lunch, we visited Gyeongbokgung Palace which is the most beautiful and grandest of the other five palaces in Korea. The garden complex was really breathtakingly pretty with colorful autumn leaves : red, orange and yellow.

Ginger Scraps : Template Mix 2 by Pretty in Green & Life Captured : October by Pixelily Designs

Look at the collection of great templates by Pretty in Green! What I love about them is that they can accommodate more than 1 pictures so I can use it to scrap my trip to Korea! Yaay... and Lily's new kit on fall is just right to do that. This is our first ever leaves war in autumn because we don;t have that season in Indonesia. So excited!

Ginger Scraps : Color Play 4 by 2AM Designs

Blue moon... This kit definitely reminded me of this song. I love the choices of papers Moni had created in this collection. And the dark color is really perfect to be the background of this favorite picture of mine, taken on the ferry deck during our last trip to Korea.

Ginger Scraps : Monthly Mix - Friendship

Check it out.... This Monthly Mix kit has the cutest word art ever! This friendship theme kit is perfect to scrap Acha's first family gathering event at Bougenvile Resort, Cibodas. She and her friend, Caca, was in the same team, Green Team. Before competing in fun games against other teams, they posed hugging each other with the biggest smile ever....

Gallery Stand Out with First Day at Grade 1!

I'm so proud to announce that this layout has been featured in Little Green Frog Design's Gallery Standout! I used LGFD's Template Tuesday : November 6 and Kristin Aagard's School Daze. I used to browse the gallery for inspiration and was thrilled to see my layout there. Wow.... ! Here is my layout using a cute picture of Alyssa's first day at school :

Little Green Frog Designs : Tickertape

I really want to scrap Alyssa's first ballet performance but haven't quite find the perfect template. I'm so thrilled to see this template while browing throgh Scrap Orchard's market during DSD Sale! I just love the big photo template with accent of smaller photos and stacked paper on the side...

I paired this template with a new kit that I got for spending $7.5 during Kristin Aagard opening store at Scrap Orchard called Moving Day. I initially wanted to used the Twinkle Toes kit, but the color scheme doesn't match. So I just take the word arts and the musical notes instead. I'm glad that she's moving to SO because SO is full of talented designers that produce magnificent kits I eager to collect!

Ginger Scraps : Be yourself, be nature by Matilda Designs

A new designer, Matilda, has just released her kit debut. Her kit is so elegant, full of real look flowers, pretty leaves and gorgeous frames. But what truly made me fall in love with this kit is the heart motive paper. So romantic... I used Acha's ballet rehearsal picture in her stunning blue costume. Doesn't she look cute?

I also used Little Green Frog Design's template found on her blog, to join November template challenge.

I won October Standout Contest!

I joined this contest last month :

and I won the first prize with 68 nomination! Here is the scoop. As the top nominator I receive $20 gift certificate to the store & 1 Year subscription to the Pixel Club. Hooray...

By the way I already spent the coupon since Gotta Pixel is having an extended DSD Sale for 40% until 9 November 2012. The time couldn't be better than this! I bought a bunch of word arts from Word Art World, pizza theme kit from Aprilisa Designs, masks from Indigo Designs and a template from Lindsay Jane. Wow, it's really is an early birthday gift for me... :).

Challenge : DSD Games at Scrap Orchard 3

This is the third and my most favorite template challenge at DSD Games. I know I'm gonna reuse this template over and over again :).

Finally I got to use Kristin Aagard Designs' Hair Day kit that I love so much but haven't got pictures to scrap with yet. Luckily, I snapped some pictures of Adin having his hair cut at Ciwalk.

Challenge : DSD Games at Scrap Orchard 2

This is the second template challenge using a template by Scrapping with Liz. I used Thaty Borges's Tripping Out kit which cloud background I really love.

Challenge : DSD Games at Scrap Orchard

I feel that games and challenges at Scrap Orchard during November DSD 2012 are simply awesome! They used the name of popular board games as inspiration for template challenges such as Tic Tac Toe, Backgammon, Checkers, Scrapapoly. Too bad I can't finish all the layouts for the 14 challenges.... :(. Next year I must join again! First, this is Andrea's Template Challenge :

I used Meta Wulandari Design kit : On Cloud Nine & Dandy Lion.

Challenge : Sahlin Studio October Template challenge

Did I mention that Krista Sahlin is one of my favorite designer? She hosts a template challenge every month in her blog and I'd like to start participate from now on. Here is the template for October challenge :

I used Adin's pictures of his school with its breath taking scene. Here is my take on the challenge using the only kit I ever bought from her, "Worn by Sahlin Studio and One Little Bird" :

Siamese Studio : DSD Grab Bag

This is another stunning DSD Grab Bag by Siamese Studio that I'm lucky enough to play with.

Inside the Grab Bag, there are four mini kits like these :

I scanned my old photos when I was in Sydney and scrapped this photo that I like so much. For the template, I used Snapdragon by Little Green Frog Designs again.
